These bibs function well and are waterproof as advertised. They didn't get more stars because they are not soft to the touch and the velcro is not the soft kind you find on other baby clothes, and it tears up other fabrics in the wash so i have to remember to always fasten the bib together before washing. Also, these are a size "2" which is too big for a newborn.

My son has had a major problem with spitting up since day one. All the bibs I had previously been using were not waterproof at all! They were just a layer of terry cloth and usually after just spitting up once the entire bib was soaked completely through and his clothes were soaked too, meaning that he usually went through at least three outfits a day. If not more! Which also meant constant laundry! These bibs are wonderful! They are a lifesaver. I am no longer doing laundry on a daily basis or every other day for that matter. They are still soft, with a layer of terry on the front and back and than a layer of waterproof material sandwiched in between. No matter how much my son spits up now it never soaks through. The bibs are also reversible which makes it where not just one side starts looking worn. Not to mention these bibs are also ecofriendly! That is always a plus in my opinion!

I've tried numerous "waterproof" bibs and unfortunately haven't found one that can hold up to my little drooler. They're ok bibs but if your little one drools constantly like mine, they don't work.
Only thing that does work for him are the plastic bibs but that's not nice to have on him. So I just have to change his bibs every 20 mins!
I think people who say they work cann't have a prolific drooler on their hands!!

My daughter has not been without a bib (due to her excessive drooling) during her waking hours since she was a couple of weeks old. These quickly became our favorite bibs. They are soft and waterproof, but don't make the crinkly sound some waterproof bibs make when they move. They hold up well in the wash, and I put them in the dryer on low, even though the tag says to hang dry. Who has time to hang dry? They are on the thin side, but because they have the waterproof core, it doesn't matter as much. Plus, the price is so great that you can afford to buy a bunch and use multiple bibs each day. I also like that they are solid colors, so they don't clash with the patterns on her clothes.
Although it doesn't indicate so here, these are "stage 2-3" bibs recommended for 3-12 months. We've been using them since about 5 months, and she is now almost 11 months old and they still fit very well. After 6+ months, the velcro still works VERY well. I would definitely recommend these... These bibs are really inexpensive and have a waterproof liner. The bibs are absorbant and they can keep my baby's clothes from getting soaked. They won't last all day - I still have to change her bibs pretty often. But I can go a lot longer between bib changes with these bibs compared to regular bibs. They are about as absorbant as some Carter's waterproof bibs that I have. My baby is a little droll machine and I am on here to buy antoher package of these bibs.

I needed bibs that did not soak through to my teething baby's shirt. These are THIN, but EFFECTIVE. There is a middle layer of plastic, but both sides are terry so it's soft. They never soak through, and are worth the money. I save all of our other bibs for eating (fruits & veggies make a mess!) then I take them off and put one of these on for play time, they last throughout the day. These will be one of the things I give at baby showers from now on!

Unlike the earlier reviews (from 2009), these bibs do have the plastic barrier between two layers of terry. My son has terrible reflux and we were going through 6+ bibs per day, as well as 4 outfits per day. I found these bibs and they are GREAT! We like them so much that we ordered a second 10-pack! We still go through multiple bibs per day, but that's because he spits up so much, that the bibs get heavy. They will soak through at the neck if that's where the baby spits up, but otherwise they are great. They are waterproof, where the liner is, so that part will not soak through. The velcro on these bibs is very strong, if we forget to attach the velcro before washing, they will get stuck to other items in the wash. Also, the instructions say not to dry them, but as other reviewers have pointed out, we have thrown ours in the dryer on low without any problems (since we go through multiple bibs).
Overall, they are a good buy, and we are very glad we found them!

I agree with almost all of the positive comments in all of the reviews on the Green Sprout bibs. However, I am knocking down their rating because I think it is misleading that they did not explicitly, clearly, state what Stage these bibs are. Green Sprouts I believe has 4 stages of bibs: Stage 1 I think is for infants, Stage 4 is for toddlers ages 12 to 24 months. I was looking for a large toddler bib (Stage 4). I had no idea there were different "Stages" of bibs - I ordered this because the pictures made the bib look adequate, and one of the postings said that these are too big for a new born. When I received the bibs, the label says there are 4 stages. Of course, I had gotten the wrong one. Boo to Green Sprouts and Amazon- very tricky. These bibs are the best I've tried so far (out of about 6 different brands). I have purchased at least 3 sets of 10, in both the boy and girl colors.
Pros:
-beautiful, color-fast colors -big variety of colors in one 10-pack. I can always find a bib to match whatever outfit he is wearing. -absent of cutesy distracting baby designs and obnoxious patterns. My 16-month old has been wearing bibs all day every day for a year, and I very quickly got tired of seeing bibs with "MONKEY BOY" or "POWER DROOLER" all over them. They are a part of his wardrobe, and I want them to be as inconspicuous as possible. -soft -absorbent -truly water resistant: there is a waterproof layer sandwiched between the two layers of terry cloth -strong velcro -both the fabric AND the velcro stay perfectly flat after repeated washings, rather than buckling or curling from the dryer like many others I have gone through -the strong velcro STAYS strong...
